Risk analysis
External factors influence the preservation of our art objects and utensils. In order to determine which environmental factors pose a risk to your collection, we offer a risk analysis at your location. Based on the ensuing research results, we can determine together with you which appropriate measures can be taken.
What does a risk analysis involve?
A risk analysis is part of a decision-making process about our heritage and based on this analysis, possible threats are mapped out. For each individual object, it is determined how great the probability of loss of value is and within what time frame. A risk analysis is made based on a site visit and your additional information about the object and the object environment. This analysis will be sent to you in a concise digital report.
First of all, the report establishes the context of both the objects and the object environment; context is important for advice on risk reduction. Consequently vulnerabilities and possible threats to an object's preservation are outlined in tables. These are then briefly explained and, based on the conclusion, you are presented with options for risk reduction.
Damage factors that are being investigated are:
⊙ physical powers
⊙ insects/mold
⊙ pollution
⊙ light (UV and IR)
⊙ incorrect temperature
⊙ incorrect relative humidity
⊙ dissociation
The risk analysis report provides an overview of the most likely risks of loss of value. A decision will be made based on our expertise and your information. A risk analysis is the result of physical observation during the site visit. Factors such as: construction, materials and material combination, condition and previous environment, determine how an object reacts to its environment. We have chosen to investigate the above seven damage factors, so that major risks can be prevented.
With our risk analysis we support you in finding suitable solutions for the preservation of your properties. Based on the analysis, we help you prioritize the objects and make well-considered choices in order to arrive at appropriate solutions.
With the risk analysis as a guideline, we can apply solutions for the preservation of your heritage. after which you can show your heritage and damage is prevented or limited.
